Outpatient Based Lab (OBL)
Thank you for choosing Seattle Vascular Surgery Outpatient Based Lab (OBL) for your endovascular procedure.
In preparation for your procedure, and in addition to the instructions you’ve been given, please review the following information:
One week prior to your procedure, a member of our team will contact you to do a pre-procedure screening. In this call, we’ll go over and confirm:
- Your current medications and allergies
- Blood labs, if applicable
- Transportation for your procedure date
- Your insurance and personal info, such as address and emergency contact
One day prior to your procedure, we’ll call to remind you of your pre-procedure instructions, such as fasting 8 hours prior and any medication changes you’ve been advised to make. We’ll also make sure to answer any questions you may have.
On the day of your procedure, please wear loose and comfortable fitting clothing. We recommend leaving all valuables (jewelry and money) as well as medications at home. Seattle Vascular Surgery cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items.
During the pandemic, we limit the number of people allowed in our office. We ask those that are accompanying you to wait in the car, or in the main lobby, after you’ve checked in at the front desk. We welcome your loved ones to leave their cell phone number, with the front desk, so we can contact them directly to arrange for your pick up. We suggest planning to be at our office for 5-6 hours on the day of your procedure. Please arrange for someone to be with you for at least 24 hours after your procedure. If you use oxygen at home, we recommend bringing a portable oxygen tank with you, for the ride home, following your procedure.
The day after your procedure, please plan to be available by phone. A member of our team will call to see how you’re doing and answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to taking care of you.
